Rentals
Depending on the type of wedding and reception
you’ve chosen, you may not need any rental items or you
may need loads of them.
In most churches, you don’t need much in
the way of rentals. Perhaps you’d like aisle candles or
special pillars or stands for flowers. Usually, your florist
can provide these items.
For your reception, if it’s in an established
facility such as a party house, hotel or restaurant, the
only time you would need rentals is if you want something
special. There are many rental companies who provide party
items, if they’re not available where you’ve booked your
event. They have champagne fountains, silver candelabra,
silver coffee urns, many varieties of china, silver and
glasswares. They also provide tables, chairs, tents, etc.,
for those of you who are going to the effort of doing an
outdoor event, or one in a hall that does not have these
things available.
If you’re in need of rental items, you
should reserve them as far in advance as possible. Go to
a reputable rental store which has these things on display.
There are some rental people who operate out of their own
homes with a very glitzy brochure of nice looking items
but, when they arrive, they’re dirty, worn, or just tired
looking. Don’t take a chance on getting stuck with someone
like this. See what you’re getting in advance.
Be aware that the rental company just drops
these items off. They must be set up either by the staff
at the reception site or by someone you’ve asked or hired
to do this. And you are responsible for anything you rent.
If an item is broken or missing, you’ve bought it.
